Gérard, my step-father, brought back a 'restaurant' which is twice the weight of pastry as a baguette for lunchtime. I thought it'd make a funny picture with the girls. As soon as they grabbed it, Madeline tried to eat it!!!

On the left, you can see what I meant by the dangers of that high chair. Even though I decided to put her fabric harness on the high chair, it's still dangerous. On the right, you can see how I solved the height problem of the chair around the kitchen table: two phone books!!

We went to Villefranche-sur-mer for a bit of fresh air and Daphnée sat on the sand without making any fuss. We still had to sit the scaredy cat Madie on my mother's handbag! She still seems unsure...

NISSA LA BELLA...

Hello! We're back in France! Since I don't have to cook, wash up, tidy up or do anything else but relax in the evening, I thought it might be a good idea to put some new photographs on this blog at last!

We went to Italy on friday with my mother. We went to Arma Di Taggia -where I took some photos last january, just scroll down... The girls drove a truck to the sounds of 'One step beyond' by the sea!!

Then, we went to a lovely restaurant. The girls shared a generous serving of trofie with tomato sauce and Daphnée absolutely LOVED it! They also had lots of breadsticks.

After the meal, we went to sit on the beach. We thought that Madeline Noodle and Daphnée Peanut would like to play in the sand.. We stood Madeline in the sand and she screamed as she felt her feet sinking into the ground. We had to sit them both on the concrete path on the beach.

Daphnée has been less shy than Madeline and has been full of beans in Nice. She has been asking to sit in the high chair to play. I kept a close eye on her since she also knows how to stand up on this chair and it's actually quite scary to watch!

On saturday, Sandra and I bought some household goodies. Sandra got a washing-up brush and Daphnée picked it up and instinctly brushed her hair with it. They had fun playing with it -especially biting it!

On sunday, we went to have lunch at my great-uncle's house in Cannes. He's my grand-mother's half brother and is the same age as my mother! He made us some spring rolls which were delicious. The girls loved them. They had a lot of other treats and enjoyed themselves. I also got to meet another great-uncle and a great-aunt! The little ladies also slept for two hours in their pushchair in the garden which allowed me to drink some more wine and sake.

ELODIE_3_089 WE LOVE SPRING ROLLS!!!

This is Madeline with my great uncle Germain who cooked and, in the background another great-uncle Louis. And Madeline again with Germain's wife, Odile. Daphnée was still asleep in the garden...

Nous revoilà!

Hey! Can you believe I finally find the time to put some photographs on the blog? I might even start mine again! I guess you will have guessed that the girls have now turned ONE! The lucky girls had birthday parties in Sheffield and Nice. I am sure you can guess which cake is the British one and which is the French one.

Anyway, before I put more pictures of the two ladies of leisure in France, here's an example of how they spend their days here... Yes, chewing sunglasses on the beach... Isn't it bliss? They grabbed and sucked pebbles as soon as we put them down and Daphnée nearly swallowed one. Pebbles are not very clean things really... I think they were a bit impressed by the sea and the waves so they didn't have a proper swim. We just dunked their feet in the water and they weren't too impressed with us!

Come back in a few days... There will be more photos!

NOT DONE YET. COME BACK TOMORROW!

Hello! So, what's happened in the last month? First of all, we had hail in Mars once or twice and it looked lovely. It looked like polysterene balls. mars1mars2 And it was just the day we were going to visit new baby Henry who was back home from the hospital. We chickened out and went the next day! It was mainly because I didn't have appropriate shoes to push the buggy up the hill to their house. This next picture was taken in Blue Moon cafe -again!- when Daphnee and Madie -not very flattering photo of her- and friend Thomas were having rusk. While the mummies were having nice cakes and teas. bluemoon13mars As far as wenaing is concerned, we are getting the hang of it! Having all sorts of food now, fish, meat -from jars!-, egg yolk, yoghurts as well as fruit and veg. One of their favourites happens to be tuna pasta! They are also learning to drink from a cup as you can see on this picture of Daphnee! daphneedrinks Anyway, that's all for now. I can hear them through the monitor so I'm off. Nex time, there should be some pictures of the new teeth because they have started coming out!!! Remember CLICK ON THE PICTURES to make them bigger!

Miam miam...

Hello! I was about to give up trying but I managed to upload a few pictures this morning for you to look at... First of all, the latest news is that we Daphnee and Madeline are eating fruit and vegetables. Their favourites so far being green beans, avocado and pear! Someone still prefers sucking her thumb to eating food... broccolithumbsucker Madie has had a cold and had to have naps with a pillow underneath her head. She's better now! madieface The other big news is that Mon Oncle Cyril came to visit... Well, I have known Cyril so long that we are almost like brother and sister so we can pretend that he is their uncle otherwise they'll never have one! Is it alright, Cyril? I have to say that Cyril is acting in a Monsieur Hulot fashion at the moment, leaving a lot of things behind ie his glasses at my mother's when we were in Nice... madiebluemoondaffybluemoon I believe Cyril to have enjoyed Sheffield. We went to Blue Moon cafe (obviously!), round Ecclesal road and to the botanical garden. I am proud to say that he bought himself a Sheffield made pen knife! Here are two pictures of the girls in Blue Moon, just waking up and Madie isbeing attacked by a present we brought back from France for boyfriend Thomas who was 6 months old a few weeks ago! Anyway, I read that Canalblog was not very good if you had a Mac and using Safari because you can't edit the text. I can tell. I might just plug my old PC back even though it takes a lot of room!!!

Hello everyone! We are back! Even though I am experiencing problems with loading pictures, I thought I'd put the ones that it's letting me load! This is Madie Moo on the plane! The girls have been really good on the plane. They didn't cry only a little when it got near dinnertime! Daphnee even had a sleep on both journeys! madelineaviondaphneeavion They even went on the beach for the first time. plage2 It was great fun and they were so well-behaved. Still no teeth have come out! See you soon!

Hello! We're still in Nice! The internet wasn't working at my parents' so I haven't been able to update the blog. It's working again and, as you can see, we have been busy walking around...

COURSSALEYAPOISSONNERIEcordonnerie

I introduced the girls to a lot of people: my half-sister Isabelle, my old friends Emmanuel and Cécile.

ISAEMMANUELCECILECOQUILLETTE

The girls are well. They make more noises than ever. Daphnée makes really loud and high pitch noises for fun! They were 6 months old yesterday!!! Mitch arrived and was tired from travelling so ha had a sleep at Cécile's -ans so did the girls!

Collants, grimaces et madeleines!

We had a quiet day. We only went for a little walk to town then the girls spent the rest of the day in cute blouses and tights. Madeline had a hold of a packet of madeleines cakes. Daphnée pulled some funny faces.

Faire une virée à 6 dans le nord de l'Italie...

Buongiorno a tutti!

We spent the day in Arma Di Taggia today which is the next exit after San Remo on the motorway. We went to the supermarket, to the restaurant and for a walk by the sea. It was a good day but extra-exhausting for me! So, apart from drawing your attention to the tip top red apple tv set... No comment!

On a mal aux dents!

Hello chums! Well, it was a very busy day! I started the day by taking time to tidy up my bedroom. As you can see, I am keeping the girls' clothes warm on the radiator!!!

habits

Sandra came at lunchtime and we all had lunch at home before we walked to town. On our way to town, we stopped at Sandra's father's shoe shop to say hello and feed the girls in the back room. It was fun but the girls have starting teething and they had big swollen red cheeks!

elio

Madie had big red cheeks but look at Daphnée's HUGE right cheek!!!

tshirtsminilabo reduits

We went to a great toy shop and ended up buying two really cute t-shirt half-price -so it was like buying one full price! On the way back, Sandra and I treated ourselves to these lovely cakes because we walked all day.

Madeline was very upset before going to bed because of toothache -as far as I can guess- but settled down after a spoonful -or nearly because most of it was spat out- of Calpol, a hot bath, a big cuddle and a little made-up song! Tomorrow, we're going to Italy for lunch with Sandra. Buona notte!
